Mafia romance series off to a great start

Jaimie Roberts has released steamy mafia based romance.
Clara is a brothel owner, with parental issues, Luca is a mobster who possibly wants her business besides wanting her.
Clara runs her brothel but in a friendly way, she cares for her girls, is there for her girls, looks out for her girls. So when Luca sends his goons to intimidate her she rebukes them. The next day Luca himself comes a calling. She sends her girls to safety. But is now a captive in her own home, an old Castle.
She is drawn to Luca, he is blatant in his wants for her. She tries to fight it but his pull is to much.
I love Jaimie Roberts books. But this one wasn't didn't score a home run with me. while the sexual tension and in suing sex is hot steamy and alpha/dominant. There are plot holes. She owns a brothel but has no security? She fell a little to fast and hard for her "captor". Luca is a total alpha but he is mobster with a heart of gold to her and her girls.
As a male, I need realism and that didn't ring through to me. That being said the story still flows the secondary characters are intriguing and developed and the antagonistic points and characters lend interest to the story.
I will definitely give book #2 a read.

Need Book 2 after like yesterday!

I wasn't too sure about this reading this but after reading the blurb I was intrigued. I'm not really one for mafia-type books but I was sucked into this right from the start. I did have a bit of a problem with how domineering Luca was and, holy hell, that ending didn't help his situation at all. I didn't see that coming but in a way I kinda did. Well, not so much that exact thing but I felt something was about to happen.
I need book 2 like yesterday. I'm off to stalk Jaimie Roberts now to see when that will be releasing. Oh, and definitely grab this. It's funny, hot, and will have you either wanting to swoon over or choke this crap out of Luca.

You would have thought I'd've been forewarned of just how much an impact this second part of the Sicilian Mafia series would have when the first book ended with an epic cliffhanger, and yet I found myself more often than not having to pick up my jaw off of the floor from finding out one more secret or one more twist that I simply couldn't have predicted. We met Luca and Clara in Luca: You Will Be Mine when Luca wanted to protect and 'sample' what Clara had to offer in her 'Hotel', breaking her own rules of never sleeping with any of her clients, only in the end, both received more than they bargained for. In Because You're Mine, the second instalment of the Sicilian Mafia series by Jaimie Roberts, readers are treated to so many plot twists and forks in the road that the edge of your seat feeling is constant. It's difficult to put into words just how much Jaimie Roberts' Luca series has put me through the emotional ringer and made me so very grateful that I had both books in my possession to read one after the other. While You Will Be Mine ends in a cliffhanger that made me want to pull out my hair because you simply can't end a book like that - think of putting some popcorn in the microwave, pushing the wrong setting, walking away and when you've realized your mistake, the resounding beeps announcing the end of the heating of your bag of kernels, you go to open the door and 'poof' that's the end of the story. You don't get to find out if the bag or the popcorn is burnt or undercooked or just right - the cliffhanger of the century, I know!! Clara, upon finding out some disturbing news about her husband, Luca, must make some of the most hardest decisions of her life and runs, finding out that her Sicilian husband is hot on her trail, refusing to accept the fact that she's no longer by his side. The chemistry is one that I could only wish for every couple for when Luca and Clara get together, I could almost feel as though I were a peeping Tom because it was that sensual and I'll admit, HOT! Considering that this was not my first novel by Jaimie Roberts that I've read, I thought I was ready for the Sicilian Mafia series, and Because You're Mine, but nothing quite like this, which, in my 'books' is the perfect read, and one that I'd recommend.
